Supporting Families from First Inquiry to First Day

At Tender Tree Montessori, our enrollment process is designed to be clear, supportive, and respectful of each family’s needs. Whether you are new to licensed childcare or transitioning from another program, we work with families to ensure a smooth and positive start.

Step 1: Inquiry

Families are invited to contact us by phone or email to inquire about availability, programs, schedules, and care options. This initial conversation allows us to understand your family’s needs and answer any questions you may have.

Step 2: Tour (Strongly Encouraged, Not Required)

We strongly encourage families to schedule a tour before enrolling. Tours provide an opportunity to:

Visit our classrooms and learning environments

Meet our educators and administrative team

Ask questions and gain a deeper understanding of our program

While tours are not required to enroll, families who choose to tour often feel more confident and informed when making their childcare decision.

Step 3: Enrollment Application

Once space is available and a family is ready to proceed, an enrollment application will be provided. Families will be asked to submit required documentation, which may include:

Child registration forms

Emergency contacts and authorized pick-ups

Health information and care routines

Schedule selection for standard and/or extended care

Enrollment is confirmed once all forms are complete and accepted by the program.

Step 4: Schedule Selection & Funding Review

Families select care schedules based on their needs and eligibility for funding.

Standard care (6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Monday–Friday) may qualify for the Alberta Child Care Affordability Grant

Extended care, weekend care, and drop-in services are optional and not grant-funded

Our team can help families understand how schedules relate to funding eligibility and monthly fees.

Step 5: Transition & Start Date

Each child’s transition is thoughtfully planned to support emotional well-being and adjustment.

Some children benefit from a gradual transition

Others begin directly with full-time care

Transitions are individualized and planned in partnership with families. Parents are encouraged to share routines, comfort strategies, and preferences to support a successful start.
